P1/P2: Unit 14

P1: Unit 14
Using blogger, suggest mobile communication devices for the following customers:
  • A student who needs a mobile phone with internet access.
  • A self employed builder who is new to technology and has £600 to spend on a laptop for printing his bills.
  • A journalist who needs an electronic tablet when on location.
  • A factory worker who wants to listen to an MP3 player on the bus
For a student I would suggest a modern phone that will last long as well as having internet access. So I think that the best phone for the student would be the iPhone 4S:

This is a 3rd gen phone, and is very fast and most of the time affordable.

For the self employed builder I would pick the HP Pavilion 15.6’’.

It is: £359.99 in PC world, and uses windows 8. It also has memory is 8gb, but has 1tb in its hard drive.

For the Journalist I would recommend an Apple iPad:

The iPad s are portable handheld devices perfect for journalists, news reporters or even their technical crew because you can use apps to write. record or even play. iPad s do vary in size but that is for the customer to decide. Depending on which version of iPad you get it varies in price.

For the factory worker i would recommend the

SONY Walkman, 8 GB, MP3 Player. It is very stylish, and if you dont have much of  a music library, you can listen to the Radio.

Add notes to this post explaining some common safety issues with using blogsites, and explain how your information and data can be made safe.

To protect your account on blogger, make sure you create a strong password. A strong password would be a word or number that nobody can guess, but it is reasonably long.

Another way to protect your account would be to make sure that you always log off when you’re done on blogger because someone could access your account and change your settings.

Speaking of settings, you can change your privacy settings so that only certain people would be allowed to access info for your account.

You can make copies of your files and store them in a safe place that nobody could access exept you.

Make sure you protect your computer against viruses, for this I would recommend Norton 2013. And try to figure out what is spam and what isn’t before you open it. This is an example of spam:

Add a section to your report that describes some of the threats and risks likely to arise from using IT based communication within a large company.

Uploading digital content can be a risk because anybody on the internet can view a picture or video of you.

Copyright is a risk because if you don’t copyright your work then it could be stolen by a rival company.

Plagiarism is when someone steals your written work and pretends it’s their own. Another use for copyrighting things is to stop plagiarism.

Spam can come in the form of an email or a letter from the post. But spam always is trying to get your bank details and money for free. This is why it is a risk.

Data protection, it is easy to misplace and lose files. That is why is is a good idea to make backups of files.

Identify why you think a blogsite is an effective means of communication within a large organisation. Use some of the features of Blogspot to illustrate your report:

Blogspot is an excellent way of communicating to a large group or business, or both at once. Blogspot lets you make one post and it will be visible to employees at the same time. Instead of keep emailing time after time.

All of the employee’s blogs can be very close. At one click of the mouse you can be reviewing an employee, seeing what your boss has in store for you or even making a post which would make or break relations with a million pound company.

Blogspot can be accessed not just at work but also at home, at your parents’ house, hotels abroad, pretty much anywhere you can get an internet connection you could be checking up on work. With that said, u just need an electronical device to access the internet. For this you can use a phone or laptop or tablet.

Blogspot is a free, easy to learn, easy to use website that everybody has access to. On blogspot you can customize your blog to suit YOUR personality. For example you could have an evil darkside and have a darth vader background, or you could love cartoons and have the simpsons as your background. Its totally up to you.

On blogspot you can not just upload posts, but also pictures, videos, and music. You can call yourself what ever you want but you really want something that everybody will recognise and know who it is. You can also comment on peoples work and tell them how to improve.
